Douglas Laboratories, along with an international team was selected to identify a Signature Cause that is well aligned with Atrium’s purpose. Growing Together was created to positively impact the quality of health of those in need, in both the developing world as well as within the communities that we live and work.

BLUE PLANET - Reducing our footprint

We believe that innovating to help people live healthier lives also means finding viable ways to reduce our footprint. So we have embarked on our Blue Planet program, approaching the issue from several different angles:

Paper:

• Reusing and recycling boxes made from recycled materials
• Using sustainably managed paper for marketing communications materials
• Using recycled shipping containers (50-60% recycled and recyclable)
• In-office Recycling

Landfill:

• We use biodegradable packing material – no more Styrofoam peanuts.

Plastics:

• Completely eliminated the use of bisphenol-A plastics
• Opted for high-density poly-ethylene, which is 95% recyclable

Energy:

• “Flick off” our operating systems when not in use
• Opted for energy-efficient lighting
• Symbol for sustainability
